Most people around the globe distain Americans and the United States. Things had gotten so bad; our President went around the globe apologizing for past American behavior and was pandering countries and ethnic groups (mostly Muslims) for their forgiveness. So what has the United States done over the past decade that has been so evil to catch the ire and wrath of the rest of the globe?
The Iraq war was very unpopular, especially when no weapons of mass destruction were found. However, today, Iraq is now a democracy free from oppression and the genocidal fears their former tyrant, Saddam Husain, placed on the nation when he exterminated hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. Twenty-seven million Iraqis (mostly Muslim) are now free. And let’s not forget that Americans fought to free millions of Muslims from the Serbian genocide in the Balkans just a decade earlier. Meanwhile, a majority of Muslim nations still oppress women and homosexuals. Muslim nations also control over 70% of the oil reserves, but only a few select tyrants and government officials get the wealth. So, who exactly is evil?
The United States relationship with Israel, without question, has many around the globe angry at us. After all, there are 57 nations that are predominately Muslim states and they account for nearly 1.3 billion people. Israel, on the other hand, is outnumbered nearly 100 to one by Muslims. Everyone blames Israel for the poverty and wretched living conditions of Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, Gaza’s governing organization is a terrorist group – Hamas. But Hamas receives no blame for overthrowing the Fatah leadership and then inexplicitly launching thousands of missiles into Israel, which provoked them to attack and blockade Gaza. No one blames the Muslim state of Egypt (borders on Gaza) for turning its back on Palestinians, nor do they blame Palestinian irresponsibility. Remember, Palestinian women average having five children, which is the reason why Gaza is grossly overpopulated. It is simply more convenient to blame Israel and their evil ally, the United States, for all their economic problems.
The United States government gives more money to foreign aid than any other country in the world. In 2006, the United States gave over 28 billion to fund foreign poverty, AIDS, and natural disasters. The United States private sector donated nearly another 100 billion to foreign aid, which is by far more than any other country. Our evil corporations, religious organizations, universities, and volunteer organizations not only donated more money, but they also volunteered the most time to wipe out global pestilence, poverty, and hunger. So who exactly is evil?
Many Americans, including our President, think we are an evil nation that callously throws its military might around the globe and neglects American citizens in need of help. Many Americans routinely called our government evil racists following the Katrina disaster that claimed nearly a thousand lives. Where would these misguided Americans prefer to live: Haiti (2010 Earthquake claimed 250 thousand lives), Myanmar (2007 Cyclone claimed over 100 thousand lives), or China (2008 Earthquake claimed 70,000 lives). These countries and these disasters are real examples of truly evil governments that failed its citizens.
The American government pays more money, per capita, for entitlements, education, and healthcare than any other country in the world. However, we still have Americans complaining about our healthcare system saying ignorant things such as England, Canada, and even evil countries such as Cuba have better healthcare systems. This is preposterous.
I challenge those Americans who think the United States is evil to live elsewhere. I challenge those global citizens that think the United States is evil to look at their own government before conveniently pointing the blame at Americans for all their problems.
